LINER NOTES:

RAGING HALLS is a single that explores the tension between desire, risk, and the moment where hesitation transforms into action. The song traces an emotional arc that begins in shadow, moves through uncertainty, and emerges into a space of release and awareness. Lyia Meta’s evocative vocals guide the listener through this journey, with lyrics that drive the narrative and shape the emotional landscape.

Instrumentation is layered with intention: guitars anchor and propel, keyboards and orchestration broaden the space, and harmonies add depth and resonance, supporting the song’s lyric-driven momentum. Composed alongside E.G. Holmes, produced by Bob McGilpin, and mastered by GRAMMY®-veteran Brian Foraker, the track balances emotional clarity with dynamic musicality.

RAGING HALLS is both a personal narrative and a universal journey, inviting listeners to navigate the interplay between vulnerability, momentum, and transformation. It captures the power of music to shape emotion, tell a story, and hold space for the complex experience of moving from tension to release.

ARTIST REFLECTIONS

"I’ve always found that a sense of balance can emerge even when you’re buried in a deep, dark place. With RAGING HALLS, I wanted to capture that feeling... the tension and heat of moments when everything feels at stake. When E.G. Holmes first sent me the track, I wrote back almost immediately!  I already had a melody in my head, with words strung together. He was open to me writing the lyrics and shaping the melody, and more than that, he gave me the freedom to bring it to life the way I envisioned. That generosity allowed me to reimagine the composition fully.

At its core, the song’s emotional arc is about moving through tension, embracing vulnerability, and finding release... emotions we can all relate to. RAGING HALLS moves through shadows, sparks, and the push and pull of danger and desire, creating a universal language of struggle, clarity, and forward motion. Music holds space for these moments, inviting listeners to confront, feel, and emerge into their own balance. This song was born from freedom and focus, even amidst being buried in a dark place."

BACKGROUND & CREATIVE CONTEXT.

RAGING HALLS began with an instrumental framework developed by E.G. Holmes, centered on mood, tension, and forward motion. From this foundation, Lyia Meta reinterpreted the track with lyrics, vocal melody, and expanded production, transforming it into a fully realized piece that balances restraint with release.

The creative process was guided by a focus on emotional progression, with every element serving the song’s arc. Production and arrangement were carefully shaped to support this movement, allowing dynamics to shift deliberately between intensity and space. The result is a composition that is both structurally considered and emotionally immediate, where sound and narrative move in parallel to guide the listener through the journey.

"The cover image is a layered piece combining elements of an earlier painting I created for the Maybank exhibition RRAWRR with a new AI-generated rendition of me. The intent is not literal portraiture but to convey the energy and emotional core of the song ... a figure propelling forward in a moment of rage and release. The word ‘ROAR’ appears in the lyrics, and the cover visually reflects that intensity. Every element of this release ... lyrics, composition, design — is treated as art, and the cover is an extension of the song’s story."
